Rock Band 2 Announced!!!

rb2.jpg

Well as many other people have put it, to the absolute surprise of no one, Rock Band 2 is set to come out in September for the 360 and at a later date for the other systems.

I have to say, a little tear came to my eye when I awoke this morning to the sweet sweet news that my favorite game of all time will be getting a sequel. And the best news of all? All of the songs I've downloaded (there's a lot of 'em) will transfer over to the new game so right off the bat I'll have near 200 songs to play on the new game! Woo hoo!

Details still seem to be a bit sparse and the powers that be say more information will be released at this years E3. That's only a few agonizing weeks away. Rock Band 2 will look and play pretty much the same but with a whole slew of updates, tweaks, and improvements on the original. You can still use all the instruments that you have now but they will also be releasing new ones that have been improved in many ways (I'm looking at you drums!). Supposedly the set list is going to be the greatest ever in a music game and they're all master tracks blah blah blah. As long as we can finally get some Zeppelin or Beatles in there, I will bow before Harmonix.
You can check out more information about this announcement here.

It also seems that the Associated Press let slip that a greatest hits pack of wait for it... THE FREAKIN' WHO will be released July 15 coinciding with the VH1 Rock Honors of The Who. For the 4 of you actually still reading, Harmonix announced way back when the game was released that they were bringing the entire album Who's Next to Rock Band. Well, Roger Daltrey and Pete Townshend (the front man and guitarist of The Who respectively) have come forward claiming that one side of the Who's Next master recordings were missing/stolen so they couldn't release the full album. This was sad news as I for one love The Who and Who's Next is arguably their best album. But honestly, this is the better move. I'd much rather have a greatest hit collection that includes "My Generation" and "Who Are You" than just the songs on Who's Next.

Well, that's all the ranting I can do for one day. Until next time (Probably around E3), Rock on!
